Keeping Kuranda's heritage alive for future generations

The Kuranda Historical Society is a community-driven, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of the Kuranda district in Mareeba Shire, Far North Queensland.

From rainforest pioneers and railway builders to the Indigenous Djabugay peoples and the vibrant multicultural communities that have shaped Kuranda, we work to ensure these stories are never forgotten.

Through our growing digital archive, curated exhibits, community events, and research assistance services, we connect residents, researchers, and visitors with the living history of this remarkable region.
